Coal Point, NSW, AU 5.5 Hydra 1500 Flow. Nothing like the predications said. Really tested the lite wind capability of this set-up but managed to foil throughout pretty much. It got a bit better but not much. PLenty out

Lake George, SA, AU. Day 7 - Sail 6
After believing in the morning that this would be another day off, rainy and ugly, i am happy to have ended up sailing in the sun for a bit.
How things change here!
After feeling some wind at packin point i decided to go try the spit.
Thanks for the idea early on Sue. Helped me know i was going the right way.
Big gear was sweet for a bit - JP SLW 165ltr, Ezzy Cheetah 8.5, 28ff
It became a bit of work so i went and changed to F-race 120ltr, Ezzy 7.5, 28ff
That was also sweet for a bit.
Then i heard the news that i am the last one here alone so i decided against going smaller gear as it picked up.  Lunch at the back of the van seemed a better choice as 'top of mountain type weather' started buffeting.
Sorry to see Mark and Maree leave, now i have no one but the ducks to follow.
Good to pratice some tacks. Mark told me just 5 words about tacking yesterday made a big difference. *Dont worry about the board.

Patchy squalls allowed me to pack up no worries. Still zero complaints. Magic place.

5-10kts few puffs 11-12kts E Coal Point, NSW, AU

7.5m Turbo- 125ltre Tabou Bullit - 38cms tectonics weed demon

1st sail back from Lake George.

Well I had low expectations but they weren't low enough..Undecided Back to the real world. Frown

It was supposed to blow 17kts huh!

I suppose it was a nice longboard session but part of me really wanted to plane.Yell

Probably the last E at Coal this season.

I took the big beginners board out as a more stable platform than the WT64 but the WT goes upwind better subplaning and gets going earlier.

Still hard to gybe with no wind. I need to get quicker getting going after the rigflip as I stand there and fall off in the slop.

Hopefully Thursdays SSE will be enough to use the medium board and won't drop out on me and leave me stranded out in the middle. Undecided

Windfoils Andrew on his racefoil and Tony , Colin and Gert plus others on wings.

Well at least I had a better day than the dinghy sailor who went out and tipped upside down. He couldn't right it and spent 1/2hr in the water until a big cat and the rescue boat came to help.
