Great sail today with good turnout.  The combo today was smoking - the 6.6 koncept pulled like a train and the board and fin combo were sensational:-)  The nautical mile had a gybe on the way back to the carpark.

Boggy lake - 13 - 18 knots.

Fanatic falcon 102 / 2011 ka koncept 6.6 and 33cm sl7.

Looks like I have to learn to sail again. Tried new board, sail and fin. Broke harness on the first run. Lovely splash. Could not get my feet in the back straps on this one. Lots of adjusting and it felt a little more right near the end. At least I planed.

More to learn.

x3 seperate sessions yesterday at Boggy Lake 8-18 knots SSW'ly

First 2 sessions used Sonic 100.  Powered up feels much better and can go upwind with less effort.

Third session to lazy to rig 7.6, stayed with 6.6 mtr on newly aquired borad (thanks to Tim) JP Slalom Vi 68cm. Needs larger sized sail.

All in all an up and down wind day, still not able to plane a gybe out but am closer:-)

Stansbury, SA, AU Kinetic 86l - WildWinds 5.4 - torquay 30 then a select Eliminator anti weed 28

First run on the Kinetic took awhile to settle in much better after going ashore, ajusting foot straps( larger as we have to were booties as their is lots of razor back's) change to a weed fin. Dave you are right this fin sucks upwindTongue out but better that fighting with weed!

The wind was not quite enought to get cranking on the board,it was too small for the day . Jeff was blitzing me on his F2 Sputnik.

Arrived too late and suffered the consequences - went upwind to join the others and the wind dropped out. Getting back was a pain. Probably the shortest session ever posted. Still the board performed well after the repairs to the holes from hitting the underwater post a few weeks ago

Mark

Hope to see more of you:-)

Tricky

Although I've had a 5 year break, back then there were no such beasties as all round good weedies especially upwind as the centre of effort on the fin is further back. The fin feels weird and looks weird when you see the fin whilst sailing! Having said that they may have improved?

Lao Shi

Hoping to crank some distance sessions as fitness improves.

Tricky with weedies you need to run an inch or 2 larger and your mast track and rear footstraps back a bit more than nornmal, I run all weedies and don't have any problem upwind, you seen my last trcks where I went up and down the whole lake that was with a 30 select freeride weedie bashed down to about a 29, the JP weedies are the pick of them though for me.

Tongue out just got my new Choco 24 weedspeed today, will try it in the missile on Fridy as are on arvo shift till then.

Tongue out Hey Pete I see you are going to be into some distance, pm me when you are as I quite like to crank along all day too, (have over 200 twice) and if we have 2 off us the same day all the better for the team, Sam and Carl can crank out the k's also.

Smile Hey Peter I see on the windsurfing SA website that back in the day you where a world champion in the windsurfer class...was that for course racing.

Could be receiving Blade 7.8 come Thursday 22nd, so hoping for a session possibly late that day. Also received new batch of C3 Sting2's (40,38,36,34)          Yes I just did course racing and I was never a champ per say just a steady sailor and if competing in last 3rd of the fleet. Maybe I did a tad better in old Windsurfer class over Fomula.

I intend to work harder in the distance arena because I just enjoy cruising:-)

I'll see about purchasing a couple weedy fins for Lake George. I've extremely fond memories of super flat water on the weed banks many many years ago. This coming summer or late 2011 will be mega as water comes back in. Maybe earlier....? When does it start filling back up?

Hi Peter, the channel to the sea is usually cleared out end of June for the big swells and high tides to push in, the water level is still pretty good for this time of year, actually the quality is great with clear water also bool lagoon is full for the first time in 10 years so we should have good fresh water flows as wellif the goverment don't redirect it to the coorong,  November to Jan is best for speed runs along the spit and Feb on the weed beds on the middle lake come into play for speed runs, the middle lake is nearly all weed now, I have been sailing from the 5 mile drift (end of gravel road) you definetly need a weedy to get out here, I have spare powerbox weedys. I start 5 weeks holidays friday so should be out when windy but will be in the sea mostly. if you are doing a distance day let me know and I will do the same,
