Great to finally get out, 5 weeks since the last sail..! Wrong tide for St George so I went to La Per to play in the waves. Big rollers out in the middle, with huge troughs in between, felt more like snowboarding at times!

i101 w. Talon 38 & Koncept 5.8 and 5.0. Goya FXRS 116 w. JP Pro 36 & Koncept 5.8,5.0,6.6

Wind 14-30 knts SSE

Tried to go for speed runs in the speed strip, too gusty and choppy for other categories. I broke a cam on the 5.8, after that couldn't do any good with the other sails. Was good to be out and see many good sailors, including Artur.

Hot Sails Maui GPS 6m, Tabou Rocket 105 and Maui Ultra Fin 19cm(?) Delta Fin. Lots of Mauis there.

 

Thanks for letting me try to HSM GPS Mick. Thats a low pressure system for you. Winds shifting around and pissing down rain. I quite enjoyed trying out the GPS sail. Its been a while since I've used a cammed sail. To be honest I think I'm better off without cams.

How was the wind down there? It was very average at Canton Beach.

Wind was around 25 knts, but on and off, gusty. I've been at Canton a couple of times, but never had a really good session there, but it seems to be the place for gps in southerlies... hope to meet you all soon.

Nothing wrong, I sail in Botany most of the times and I love it, but it is more challenging than other places.

Hi Artur,

I prefer to sail at Botany Bay in NE seabreezers. So that means I probably won't be down there till next spring. Southerly or westerly winds I'll head to Canton Beach as I have more fun there windsurfing in those wind directions than anywhere else. Easterly winds I'll probably head to Brisbane Waters as its pretty good there.
