Rewarding little session to sneak in when I had very little time. Good training for shifty, changing conditions thats for sure.

The Speed and the Power are very different boards!

That was one of my most enjoyable sails EVER! Second time out on my new second hand Koncept 7.5 and after fixing the broken batten it was a revelation. It felt nicely balanced and carried me through the lulls beautifully. I'd even sanded my dodgy fin from the other day and it only managed to let go a few times today so that made a nice difference. It was however a hell of a lot less choppy than Sunday so that would have no doubt helped. I couldn't believe that I virtually had Botany Bay to myself this arvo, cept for 3 other guys who were out a bit further down. One did come up and sail where I was while I was out but apart from him it was just me and the Bay and 12-20 knots worth of lovely Nor East wind and even some flat water over by the runway to boot! Bit bummed I didn't get an hour PB as I think today was the first time since being in the GPSTC I actually looked at my watch when I hit the water and tried not to blow a single gybe (which I didn't). But dropping off the plane in a few lulls kinda cruels the effort. STill, it wasn't far off.

I love working for myself, knocking off at 2:30 on a Friday arvo to go sailing rocks CoolLaughing

First after work sail since early December and second tentative go with the knee. What wind there was really light and only lasted about 40 minutes. So pretty happy with the 2 sec as the gusts were few and far between. Just really happy to get planing (once again its an awesome feeling). turning around is the hard part, you dont realise how you twist knees and ankles etc.

Chris and I decided to pull the pin and both got the same gust going straight down the pond until the wind stops and we bounced all over the place.

Just me, Chris, Menno and Chuckles who was floating in when I packed up, wind had gone!!

Now that is an interesting place to launch from in  a N/E'ster.

Probably a lot cleaner than Rodd Pt.

Where'sDave?

No Pete - Actually Rodd Point funnels in with a NE'er. The wind my be little stronger up where Tim was sailing but its way more consitant at the Point Its just that the're very short runs down there.

I hope you (Tim) had a good scrub down with the Pino-Clean - the water must be filthy ATM. Well done on getting out Tim.

Glad you had a good time Rexy - Nice results.

Another Black NE'er - some summers we don't get any.Undecided

Nice work Rexy! Water was not to bad Dave, was not keen to head into Iron Cove bay at low tide with a 70 cm fin! Good fun sail, not a super sail but great to get one in when I would not have had the time to make it to the bay. Some pretty good gusts came though and I experienced serious wind against tide on the formula board for the first time, interesting!

Sweet gybe at 2:20 Rexy, looks super-smooth... I just got back from S America yesterday and was a bit too knackered to go out - but looking at the crappy forecast now I wish I'd made the effort. Glad you're back on the water Larko - a bit of hydrotherapy's bound to be good for the knee..!

Ta Sparky. I was only a bees appendage off a corner pb which I was really surprised about considering I was on my biggest kit and the crap results I had on it last time I was out. I must have done nearly a hundred gybes yesterday and I only dropped 1. You missed a cracking sail.

Sorry Larko, forgot to say congrats on your sail too, I know what it's like the first times out when you're recovering and how tentative you are on the knee. Baby steps mate.

Nice vid Andrew - like that boom setting angle.

Really p1ssed I didn't go, saw a storm coming over on radar & thought it would kill the N/E, but it veered north Yell
