Elwood, VIC, AU

Arived at Elwood to find Evan already blasting on his 7.0 and the power lines humming, decided on the 6.2 and Jp but only had a few runs and changed down to fsw gear. Came in to find Evan doing the same, unfortunatly the wind backed off a bit and was a bit underpowed so packed up early, though looked good again for when Jak arrived.

Elwood, VIC, AU, arrived when Jman and Evan packed up. Prepared the Rocket with the V8, but wind backed off a bit so decided last minute to take the barge, which was a perfect combination all evening. Sailed for about an hour and a bit until I was alone, great session. Gybing worked pretty well for me today (at least it felt good, dropped only 4 or 5) so decided to hang out for the 1 hour. Surprised that Alpha and 1hr wasn't faster though.

Got to elwood to a fairly solid 14-15 knots and no Jerry, "what the.."!Undecided Rigged the new Ezzy Infinity 7m and setup the Futura. Sail felt great out on the water. Took me a few runs to get use to the cams but overall an easy transition from the "no cam" freeride. Was a bit on the edge on a few runs as the board was just feeling a tad big for the ever increasing swell & wind. Headed in a changed down to the 5.8m and my Flare106. Jerry followed shortly after and I knew he had the same idea. Anyway, struggled from then onwards with staying upwind again. Just felt under powered for most of the time. Great session all the same. Really happy with the new sail.

Jak turned up just as we called it a day.

Great speed for the bay guys, I couldn't squeeze more out of the barge. Good to hear the sail works well Evan. Perhaps try it with a smaller board if too choppy (do you still have the Futura 93?) I don't mind the 7.5m V8 with my Rocket.

Jerry, yeah. It's almost like it dropped as soon as I hit the water. It also got quite a bit stronger than I thought. Easily 20+ knots at one stage. New board looks nice Jerry. Sounds like a good buy.

Jak, I was thinking the same on the way home.  It's mostly the nose on the Futura, it doesn't like the chop and swell in the bay. Catches and has almost thrown me on multiple occasions. No, I no longer have the Fu93. Slightly narrower board would be nice.

Great speed Evan. You could try the Fu93 with a 7m as they are spec to carry up to a 7m., but maybe a 2012 Carve 111 might be the go. I'm leaning that way myself for next season with Futura 121. Both carbon.

I have the van today, hoping to get out tonight

Hey Steve, thanks. Yep, I agree, I think the 2012 Carve would be much better suited to the bay, especially in the 15 + knot range. I can't sail tonight. Hope you get a decent wind.
