Primbee, NSW, AU.

What a weird afternoon of wind & temperature! The wind was blowing NE when I arrived at Primbee - not the predicted westerly. The temp was only mid 20's, while Sydney and Nowra were sweltering in the 40's! After a lot of hanging around I decided to rig  the 6.2 sail, thinking that the westerly "should" be pretty strong. The wind finally kicked around to the NW with a 10 degree jump in temp but the wind was quite on/off and gusty. I had one run down to Windang on nice, flat water, but that meant a long slog/walk to get back to the launch site.

Finally a classic "southerly buster" blew through, plunging the temperature. The gusts were well into the 30 knots, and generally well above the sail range. I was lucky to catch the first wind front and it provide a pretty thrilling ride with plenty of turbulence - whew - good fun.Cool

Primbee, NSW, AU. Patrik Slalom 100, Sailworks 6.2m NX, BP23WS.

Started work early at 5:30am this morning with the intention of getting down the lake just after lunch for some howling westerly fun, but alas it was not to be. There was quite a bit of floating with the occassional light NW gust to keep it interesting. It was amazing watching the southerly front as it came through later on. It hit windang first, creating a ball of turbulent spray that travelled down the lake to the northern end. I watched Bushy flying past of a howling run through the flats as the front came through, I tried to follow but narrowly avoided going over the handle bars then lost the fin and missed the whole opportunity. After that the gusts became full on ballistic, too much for the 6.2m. This intensity only lasted about half an hour before dropping slightly.

Great speed Bushy! I was watching the ob's on my phone from work, thinking I should take the arvo off and head for Primbee. But NO I was stuck in the watercart trying to stop all the coal in 4 dump from blowing away lol. Oh well it sounds like you had to be right place, right time to get it. Well done boys!
