Craig Hammond (1546km): Botany Bay Exo Warp SL 56 KA Koncept 6.6m C3 Venom 34cm. Nice blast after work, NE 18 with a few good gusts.
table top russ (371km): Kyeemagh, NE 15-18 knots. Spent the afternoon teaching my mate how to waterstart at the top of the bay behind the breakwall. Dan managed to crack a couple, and with the dodgyness of the wind in there, and it being his first go on a short board ever, it was an awesome effort. There was plenty of swimming for me having to swim out and sail the gear back. Peak breaststroke spead was 4.5 knots. Hardly Hacketty's pace! I had my 5.9 rigged but was more comfortable on my old 6.6 vx3 on a 308 Caveman which Dan had been using. Cracked a 30 on it and a few high 20's, not bad considering the wind was dieing off towards the end.
Sean Dayhew (8784km): narrabeen lake, ne 5-14knots, mostly 5 hypersonic 105, drake 32, rsrII 7.0 looked good when i got there, got out the back & every one went in... got quite a few good gybes in, a 17.66 alpha isnt bad with a max speed of 20.9. Hooked in a few times on what i thought would be a planing gybe & went in backwards, you dont know gusty until you have sailed NE at the lake. |
