Mainly down at the PiT to give my learner partner a sail and a lesson. After she tired out I had a quick 10min blast before we had to pack up at 3pm and race back to Melbourne. Wind was late coming in, then got up to about 20 knots Easterly for about half an hour, then dropped right out again. From the look of the trees driving back it looked like the wind did come in again. A couple of runs on the east bank with the low tide on my big ole 130L Naish Icon with 34cm freeride fin and 5.8m KA Koncept. Good to catch up with some of the crew again. Hopefully some decent speeds from the team.

Arrived at the Pit 1.00pm. Full low tide about to start coming in. Super low tide with the east bank right out, perfect for the promised easterly session but....no wind. Waited, waited, mmm some wind coming, enough to get the big gear going. Out comes the Love muscle large and the 7.5 Koncept, but hangon, it;s getting windier. 7.5 back in the car and rig the 6.4 , connect the Love muscle medium then dive for the wetsuit. Done...hangon ,wheres the wind gone.  Bugger , stick the big board on and give it a try.  Ok I,m planing, but thats about all.

Anyway, a fun but very underpowered session, should have had the 7.5, until the wind finally died right out. The tide was ripping in at this stage and it was getting really lumpy. Just as I was about to pack up the promised easterly started to fill, so I grabbed the LM medium and had a few runs. With the bank now submerged and the tide ripping in it was really uncomfortable and impossible to sail with any speed, so that was that.

OES Custom 106 (LM large) KA 37 Slalom, KA Koncept 6.4  then a few runs on the Dweller Custom 84( LM medium) and KA Speed 23 Symetrical.

First day out on Carbon Art sl58.  After borrowing Matt's hacksaw  (thanks Matt) to get a fin screw to fit I hit water with 6.5m on my newly fixed 430 (it held together so happy).

Unfortunately wind died and I had to go so didn't feel entirely satisfied as was still playing with the setup of board and sail.

Impressions of the SL58 thus far - seems fast and controllable - really like that it seems to have a nice sweet spot with the trim of the board (fore and aft) and it just sits up and loves this particular attitude.  Once I nail the mast track and footstrap size I imagine I'll really be able to push this board hard - only really did one decent gybe as I was having trouble with cams popping off due to lack of downhaul.. but still managed to almost equal my pb alpha in not the greatest wind - look out 24+knots I'm coming!!

NOW ABSOLUTELY ITCHING TO GET THE CA SL58 back on the water again - and to see what it can do in the bay chop as it does feel quite controllable (as promised by rest of crew who use sl55).
