5.0 KA Koncept, 95 Sonic

Tough time at the office today. Rigged the 6.5 when I first got to the point as the wind was around 18 knots. Had one run and then got slammed as a front came through.

Rigged the 5.0 and was still getting slammed by huge gusts. Lots of tail walking and out of control 'sailing'. Finally the wind eased a little and I managed to get some runs in although trying to gybe was hopeless in those gusty conditions.

Still it was great to get out and score PB's.

Well what a day, got woken up at 4.30 this morning when the wind came in, stoked went back to sleep then got up to catch the ferry across to Rye for the day to catch up with some of the pit crew and about 40 other sailers today, most peolpe of ever sailed with. Was hoping for a bit of speed today on the bars but it wasn't to be, the tide was to high by the time the wind arrived. when I left home in the morning at 6 there was 38 knots at Pt Wilson, when i arrived at Rye maybe 15!, couldn't believe it, it filld to maybe 20 so was playing on 6.4 and big board, started to fill in then had some crazy overpowered moments, keeped filling in, time to change boards and sails. Rigged the 5.2 and missile, but the water was so rough, tried really hard to crack the thirty, had some massive stacks cos i was leaving the water way to much, finally got a run in between the bar breaks where it was semi flat!?. One of the hardiest days i've had so far, but learnt a lot more board handling, so that's a positve....

It was pretty full on. One good thing was that the tide was up and over the weed banks. This kept a lot of the chop down.
