Just got a couple of GT-31 questions...I'm not sure whether to use the .gpx from Log.Data or Navi.Data?? Also, GT-31 told me on the water that my top speed was 22.21 - is it normal for there to be this discrepancy between what it shows on screen and what it downloads to the pc?

Nice numbers Jacqui!

The peak speed shown on the GPS is a one second peak. It is always a bit higher than the 2 sec peak (usually by 0.5 knot) recorded on GPSTC.

         Unfortunately the screen always shows a little better than realityFrown

The 2 second speed is calculated from 3 x 1 sec speeds and the screen shows your best 1 second.

You should also be using the SBN file.

As long as you are getting PBs it's all goodWink
