Kyeemagh, 12-18 knots NE

iSonic 90, Loft Switchblade 7.3  36cm Talon

I headed out at 10:45 and took half an hour to slog over to Kurnell, planing ony three times. After five minutes, it was game on, and the wind really set in and had a great couple of hours over there with Troy joining a bit later. Hunger brought me back to Kyeemagh where it was much lighter and really patchy. The breeze slowly picked up but the gusts only felt about 20 knots tops. The 7.3 was rigged for light wind all day with 4cm less downhaul and outhaul. Still, it was nice to not sail in the rain!

Took myself and new iSonic 121 to Kurnell, as it was a bit easier to get to than Kyeemah.

New toys is GREAT! Love that board... except, it felt a bit slow - until I removed the weed, which causes the fin to audiably vibrate.

Then it felt great, but a little bit slow - so I moved the 7.0m sail all the way to the back of the recommended mast base position - and the board came alive! Riding right back on the tail and felt super slick through the water! So exciting - and a little scary at 28kts in chop!

The iSonic is so easy to gybe, and easy to keep planing on the exit... loving it. The 44cm fin works, but feels a bit small upwind.

Sail was a little under powered at times, and over at others. Great day!

Also had to stop at the boat ramp, to send a boat out on a rescue mission for a family rowing their tiny back to shore - so good deed for the day done!

Great day sailing from Winda Woppa with a group of 10 guys & gals.

N/E 12-15 in the morning on bigger gear, then 15-18 after lunch.

Love that bear away/down winder from the sandbar up near headland down to Winda Woppa.

Unfortunately slow start & a few hole so no PB for Nm.

Best days sailing for a long time....& got the distance up a bit.

Magic place to sail with the dolphins Tongue out  Cool

Thanks guys

On Saturday we had 11 sailors out, 3 watchers & a lot of drag races & fun.

TimS broke a boom out in the heads, had to change over (with an outgoing tide) & limp back.

Was a bit under powered after lunch when it didn't build as much as expected.

Going up again next month. Tongue out

I think Jimmy's Beach is the best flat water spot in NSW in a NE wind. It's just so amazing there. The water is beautiful and it so easy to keep sailing all day. I'm half tempted to do a camping trip up there the next weekend a NE wind is forecast. Good distance there Peter.
