An absolute shocker of a day. Rigged the speed board with a 6.0. Went out without my harness!, came back, got out about 50m, wind totally died. Get back in rig the 7.8 and Iso 110, of course the wind comes back in very strong, so I decide to foolishly continue blindly. I was kind of thinking that it would be good to see how the board handles in these conditions - Very dumb decision. So it was straight into damage control heading right up wind to slow things down. Got to the other side into dead calm and backwinding. Fumble around and heading back further up wind - wind was really cranking, then this huge black front comes over from the East and just hammers me for about 20 min as I sit on the board thinking about life etc. The chop was very big. Finally got back to the main beach feeling completely knackered. Everyone had stories about the difficulty of picking the right gear today, so that was a little reassuring, but I think that I just completely ****** up today

Hervey Bay. Exo RS4 (now with cutouts), 7.3 S/blade, 37.5BP. First sail since slicing the top of my foot with fin.

             I feel like the cutouts have improved the board for me, not that today was a good test though.

             Nice to have a sail at the bay again.
