Pretty happy with this session. Had a run on my dads falcon for the first time, was pretty bumpy in the channel so just was hoping to get a new PB. 3rd reach I went to start downwind to the channel, gybed and smack, smash my dads fin of a rock, big chunk out of it and split at the bottom. No sandpaper so i stayed out and dargged it over the sand a few times, and went upwind instead. Got a few runs in and a 28, was plased with this. There was no real bank and was very shallow so had to stay out in the bumpy whoop de doos. Satrted to really push and got a 30, so happy! that was my goal for the year - peaking too soon! A few more runs and a 32 that was effortless, was shocked!
Then the shit hit the fan and a 40kt squall came through - visability down to 100m. Went upwind pointing very high and turned only to get blown of the water, drifted for a bit as i couldn't even lift the kit out of the water without it getting blown for 20m. Sat down for a bit, wind dropped to 25 and more westerly, i was hammered as had wiped out at least 15 times. Cut my losses and sailed in - tide had come up so could sail 20m from bank and was a bit flatter - got 31.5 - OK 1 more - 33.43 on GPS. I'm going home. Great day!
Fixed my dads fin up with tooth filling material and my drill at work today, he wasn't even pissed!
