Very quiet on the island Saturda, with most competitors having left. After racing all week I wanted to have one more day on the island to do the touristy stuff that my family had already been enjoying! Had a sweet ride with the family on the glass bottom boat then checked out the crocs in the park, being fed by the multi-talented Croc Hunter and Photogapher BillyGI from the FNQ mob :) Cheers for looking after us all week Billy.
Around 1pm rigged up and went out for a blast with Kel from FNQ mob and Peter from Melbourne. Wind was just perfect for 7.6 - super consistent and some nice flat water on the inside for great feeling carve gybes. So glad that I stayed the extra day and got this sweet session in. Didnt realise that it would be an hour PB, which I'm really happy with. Its amazing what you can do when you have consistent wind (unlike home!). Thanks of course to my wonderful wife who watched the kids for one more day while I could get my last bit of island sailing.
Thanks to Kel for helping me carry my gear on and off the ferry, even though he had his own family to take care of. As I said in the other post, the local guys made us all feel so welcome.
Hope to see you next year Green Island!
