Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU.....Tried out my old 5m Combat wave sail on 116l Screamer, but wind went down and I had a slow trudge back.

By then Freddie and HoppyBob were on the scene, but I was not enthused enough to go back out.     Watched Freddie get some good runs

interspersed by some slogging.     See what the morrow brings.    Cool/Innocent

Lake Tinaroo, QLD, AU

Hoppy Bob and I thought we might go up and annoy Herby and Hans at the lake.

Herby was already sailing when we got there. Hans thought he might have a sail tomorrow

if wind was a little more consistant. A little warmer than the other day but the wind was

worse/more inconsistant.

KA72, Holloways Beach, QLD, AU

Wasn't keen to sail, been to chiro but back was still crook. Then thought bugger it, after a quick sail back's as good as new, should have saved my money Undecided

Bla Bla, beach was on and off and did the occasional drift waiting but had a good short sail anyway. James was sailing also, didn't see his gps but he was having fun lots of jumps etc as he does, sailed rings around me Laughing I think my gybes are improving EmbarassedLaughing

Looking forward to Green tomorrow with my team mates especially Benny before he heads back home Cool

Mackay, QLD, AU

Early knock off to get the last of the tide. Just me and 5 kiters out. Wind 15-20kNts. Bit light to start with but filled in nicely at the end. 6.4kult, Naish Concept 100L. Just can't seem to crack 30 in the open ocean with this freeride kit. Gotta try a slalom board and cambered sail.

Great fun regardless. Looking forward to seeing the numbers from the GI crew.

Nice ocean Nm Troy Cool

Mate I struggled on my freeride to get 30's in the ocean, 30 was rare seemed stuck on 28's. I upgraded the fin that came with the board to a Techtronics F1 Falcon, big difference, 30's came fairly regular after that. Not knowing your fin I bet that'd be best upgrade. If you do have a good fin then yeh go the slalom. As with cambered sails, I've gone near on as fast with my old no cam Loft as my best Pb, in fact my 2nd best 36.8 is with the no cam, just saying.

Where's the big bastard, stuck in the office ? Laughing

Cheers Bob.

Yes Bob as you know sometimes being a shift worker the plannets don't alway line up and the wind fails to come when needed,I just had 2 weeks off and managed Green the first week and Bowen the second week, now back at work but only on call for shipping days so as I have been able to get out in the arvos between ships, just make sure that I have the mobile in a aquapack.hope to catch up soon.

Yeah Bob, wrong gear for spped sailing for sure. Board and sail are designed for low down grunt and rough water comfort. The KA kult hits a top end at about 32kNts, mainly because of the high clew which is hard to deck down. I can't bring myself to sand off the pretty graphics on the naish either.

My budget speed kit might need to be Sputnick, Techtonics fin, 6m Slalom Sail. Either that or get myself to Green and hire some of Toddy's kit.

I'm off to NZ in August, so maybe I can sneak a carbon art home in my luggage from Teranaki.
