S wind session at Kalmus. Got a few runs in on XFire 90 & TR7 7.0 before wind and swell increased enough to make me switch to FSW gear. Most of the time fully powered on 5.5, last few runs on 4.5.

Went out for a second session in the evening, when wind meter averages read 35 mph. Standing on the beach in onshore winds, less than 10 feet from the water, my legs got sandblasted, even though the sand was wet! Overpowered on 4.0 Ice, 77 wave board - quite memorable!

Near epic conditions came after sitting and waiting it out through 35 minutes of ferocious squalls stuck on the far side of the river when some of the time I couldn't see half way back across the river because of the thickness of the rain. When it cleared out and the wind filled in, my new/used Maui Sails Global 5.0 on a Starboard Carve 99 -- didn't have the Axxis 89 in the van today -- with a brand new never been used Hatteras shorty weed fin was the right rig. I think I broke my personal best for speed sailing in chop. Great swells in the river with the outgoing tide and the 20 to 30 SSW blowing up the river. Found better wind staying along the top of the rollers. A great day!

It was one of those days, Over powered not powered, gusting, a lot of rain, than a good wipe out.

It was fun, with a lot of pain hoping Advil will work
