Kyeemagh NSW

Fluffy on & mostly off N/N/E

Got only 2 good gusts down the runway.

But....good to have a sail on a very hot day

Fun Sunday sail with Ken, Barry and Tim (good luck getting to hobart, you might need something bigger than that JP68!!)

Tried to avoid all the kites, boats, kids, jet-ski's etc at Kurnell.

Part 1 (below) with video to appear on youtube.

Excost RS2, 35cm select fin, Maui Sails TR6 7.0m2

Part 2 after changing fin to 31cm carbon select fin (36kts yesterday on 5.5!)

I also had a bit of fun with some looooooooooooooooooooooong runs.

Kyeemagh, NSW, AU

Waitd around from 2 till 5 for the wind to pick up - picked up to 20+ knots late :)

Rigged 7.0 TRX / Patrik 115 slalom and went for a blast.  Awesoome hour and a half of  fairly flat water.

The New TRX sails are Fantastic. the top end on the 7.0 just wants to keep on giving. it pulls like a truck.

Felt secure and locked in even with some 25+ knot gusts  and even when you at top speed  and you hit a gust you feel a surge of power pulling you forward. Smile Need to work on board trim or get a faster board as it really felt like the board was struggling to keep up at times.

Sailed it about 3 times now and really starting to get the feel for it on the gybes. - the Entry is really good and smooth but i need to do a lot of workon the exit speed.

HELP

Can anyone cut a GPS GT-31 file in half?

Apparently I finally went faster than 40kts, but it was in the car. D'oh.

Hey Berowne. If you export your trackpoints as a GPX file, you can open that in any text editor and delete the invalid points - it's just an XML file. Or, as James said (6 minutes before you asked the question..?!) you can download Realspeed and that allows you to delete trackpoints too.

Track from Part 2... just changed fin to a 31cm carbon job.... sweet!

More control with a smaller foil!

I had  a bit of an issue with the GPS track after changing fin. And I left it on for the drive home.

Edited details.

Part 1:

Sailor 2 Second Peak (Kts) 5 x 10 Second Average (Kts) 1 Hour (Kts) Alpha Racing 500m (Kts) Nautical Mile (Kts) Distance Travelled (km)

27.18 (D)
14.82 (D)
20.24 (D)

Including Part 2, with the smaller 31cm carbon fin!

Thanks Sparky for the tip. Mind you, 'editing' an XML file is easy to say, finding the right GPS coordinates to cut from is  harder!
