Could have easily used the 6.3 but daylight was running out. Way too messy so only got two half decent 10sec runs with the rest of the session just bone jarring. Wind was very up and down at the start of my NM but pulled out the run when things got too hairy towards the end.

3886 days ago Port Douglas, QLD, AU Went down the beach for unhappy hr,After a shit day at work..Wind was very much off shore, looked on seabreeze and it said 25kts at low isles..Rigged 6.6m North Sail on 101 Falcon..Wanted a quick blast to try out sail, as it has just had a back yard tune up, and 2 broken battens replaced ,which i made up out of left over bits from my scrap bin..I waddled out to the wind line about 2kms out.Wind was very up and down with good gusts and big holes all in the same breath..It wouldn't of mattered what you rigged it would of been wrong.Made the most of it for about half hr.Sail felt great it powered through lulls well and twisted off nice in the gusts, was just starting to think that i might get an ok session in.. Then it just vanished totally..couldn't f...king believe it..Wasn't even enough wind to limp home on,Had to swim my gear almost all the way back to the beach,I started to get paranoid and had convinced my self that i was getting followed by a' big shark' and the further it swam the bigger it got..Was glad to finaly get to the beach just on dark..First crap sail i have had for ages..Ed..

My first run at Burrum today in a dropping wind. Tide was nice and low, so I was able to get a couple of runs in light winds behind the sand bar. It was also my first day with my brand new Ezzy Lion 6.5, Ezzy skinny mast, Streamlined carbon boom and new harness lines. Unfortunatley one of the "Radz" harness lines snapped on the first reach. A return jog back to the car to replace the said line had me wondering just how far out I actually was on the sand bar? Either way with new gear and the droppig wind I did get a good look at what Burrum could be in the right conditions. Can't wait to try it out again. It is only 2.5hrs away from my new home after all. . . .
There was 3 others out here in the middle of nowhere today. Each one of us was from a different team. GPS Team Challenge is a alive and well.
In the wind,
Rico
