Primbee, NSW, AU   A SW all day, 30kts max. on the permanent wind meter, very patchy in the morning but kicked in

around 11 and stayed all day, some big gusts but also a bit of stop and go.

Primbee, NSW, AU

Wasn't expecting it to blow so hard today but it was a nice surprise. Was pretty patchy and with short sharp gusts most of the day but still consistent enough to get some decent runs. Went out on the 7.8 - 101L combo around 10am. Felt really good. Tested out a Unifiber 26cm Anti Weed Lessacher FWD G10-Carbon. Wasn't bad felt a little loose at times but pretty solid when fully powered up. Should be a good alternative to the delta for Primbee. Got a run on the W49 after lunch but never really got comfortable with the 6.2 on it. It felt huge on the board for some reason. Anyhow looks like I picked up a couple of PB's, so stoked with that. Came close to a 2 sec but also came real close to paying the price so that one can wait for some flat conditions. Hope everyone had a good day. Look forward to seeing some posts.

Great to finally get some wind again, the gauge was showing 7 -30 kts but I think consistency improved during the arvo. I managed a couple of hours and was just heading for shore to call it a day when I hit a submerged solid object at speed down towards the Windang end and snapped the tail off the Isonic. I had a look around for the object but couldnt locate it, though surprisingly there was no damage to the fin at all.

The approximate location of this submerged solid thing was about 3/4 of the way down towards the Windang end and about 100-150m offshore almost directly infront of that funny looking grey paddle steamer contraption on the bank. So take care fellow speedsters, we probably should organise to head down there on a windless day and attach some more marker buoys to any submerged things out there.

Not sure if the board is repairable or not, hopefully it is.

Nice PBs Stu.

Matt - OUCH! I hit something there last year, Gary (Isaac) pointed it out to me. It was about 20m east of a little white buoy near that area.

Commiserations Matt.  What a sad end to the day and the board.  Glad you weren't injured.  Long walk home just to rub it in....Windsurfing can be a cruel sport some days.

Rotten luck Matt, but glad you're ok. Hopefully your unidentified object is something floating that will end up on the beach.

Nice Pb's Stu, and some great backup from the other Speedsters. Well done.

Cheers Guys, no injuries here apart from the board. I am getting quite good at catapulting though. But usually it's caused by missing the back foot strap.

Nice going Stu, crikey Matt thats put the shivers up me I was going past that white bouy quite a few times today.

I always remember Michael telling us about it last year so I keep my distance, but not knowing where it is, is scarey.

As for the board, is it under warranty, Glen knows the right people, or give it to Tex for his board museum, see you tomorrow.

Matt that is bad luck for sure...

As to cause of your busted board my guess is you hit a large fish square on. Happens on a regualr basis here in Boggy Lake with carp. You think you've hit a rock etc but the telltale is no damage to your fin! My last collison with a carp caused a massive caddy to myself and sustained rib fracture. I've hit a few carp same as others at Boggy and you get to know by feel what you collide with!! Rock hitting is something I practice with at Lake George when pushing the sides to far versus carp hitting which is a tad softer and not the jagged fin bashing on rocks.    My what a rant......
