Cluffy (4190km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU Sitting in my car at marmong watching the gusts.. it was utterly feral. windy but just not a fun situation. I decided stuff this and went down to budgie. That was a lot more fun. Apart from the flat water, the breeze was a totally different kettle of fish. Still up and down but nothing like the dementor gusts that marmong was throwing out. It was worth the trip just for some decent breeze. I only got wound up twice in the smooth stuff and my 50 degrees fin was speed bumping a fair bit but it still brought a big grin to my face. My home made fin worked great except for the rake angle. It couldn't quite handle the heavier weed. Great spot though I can see why you guys like it. I was running a 90 litre falcon with a 7 metre. What size delta fin should I be looking at for that combo?
Byron Mcilveen (64411km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU 1990 mark pederson slalom board modified tr116.6 17 delta. not enough wind never got lit but it was so flat it could have been epic if we ever get wind here. direction was good to. Nice turn out very happy with the old done up board it gets going early but apears to have realy good top end. its only 53 wide and around 80l
Andrew Haigh (50238km): Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU F2 Missile then FF79 with 6.6m Arrived late and missed the best of it. Pretty poor session, but at least it was warm and sunny.
Cluffy I use a 19 with my 6.6, for a 7 I would be thinking a 20

sboardcrazy (25098km): c15-23kts WSW peel st Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU- 6m OD + 79ltre Falcon + 20 cm delta Good sail! All started rigging big but then it came in so went down a bit- died off as soon as I hit the water but in typical W style came back in and fun sailing. Better angle for bearaways than yesterday. Got the 2 sec in one of my first runs. Disapointed in speed - considering how flat it was and i was comfortably powered I expected better.I think the thick weed is giving a lot of drag. Didn't get one alpha as too shallow to gybe! Planned to get one and hit bottom half way through - pity as dead flat. I'll have to plan for some next sail. Mick , Milsy , Wayne , Byron and me then Andrew and Mat . Tired but happy. As usual better wind at Newie but not much flat water! |
