Jetlag (10674km):
2121 days ago Sat at work watching the Southerly truckin up the coast. Got the timing just right. Was rigged and hit the water just as it flicked from 10kt NE to 25kt S. I was predicting 20-30kts so went for the 7.1 and Speed Board, it ended up more like 25-40kts. I had two good runs on flat water before it went ballistic and I went in to change to the 5.8. Went back out and it had ramped up even more. I was struggling to beach start the 5.8 which I'd bladed out in anticipation. Had a couple of good runs and Gerry came out too. The chop was so nasty that speeds maxed out at about 40kts. Went in for a break and then noticed it drop just a bit and become gustier. Headed back out for the best conditions of the day. The lulls meant that there were some moments of flatter water. The wind had clocked more SE so that helped with the chop as well. The gusts and the shallow water area were very narrow so had to go quite deep to stay in the breeze and away from the shore. Chuffed with the 5x10 and so close on the 2 sec. Happy that i've finally tuned the 5.8 a bit better.
