2098 days ago Day 2 @ Lake George. Sailed from the spit today. Only saw one snake. Went out first on the big gear while it was building, worked up to 5 mile for a quick gday then 3 big bearawys back to the spit. Got a bit excited by the slowly building breeze and swapped to the 6.3. Big mistake, could've happily stayed on the 7.1 all day like yesterday. Spent the arvo working the flat bits but never quite enough power for good speeds. Still had a fun day out. Back on the road back home tomorrow. iSonic 107, Gun GSR 7.1, Delta XT50 24 then Naish SP95, Gun GSR 6.3, UFO 24/50/10 and a few blats on the iSonic W49/UFO 18/50/10.

Second and final day of the mission. Drove to the spit today, bouncing around in the van. On the water about 12, about 15 minutes before the sou'easter had enough grunt to sustain the 7.0 North Warp and 104 Falcon (MUF Delta XT 22). Sussed out the weed bed that Hardie put us all onto, then on Jetlag's lead, began working upwind. Lost track of the Jet so continued upwind right up to Packers Point, then 'sent it' on a long, zig zagging run back to the lake, all the way to the spit. One brief stop to reset the boom height (new head keeps inching itself down), then in for a rest. Decided to re-rig down the 6.3 on the expecation the wind would build but that was a mistake, as was taking out the W49 Isonic Speed board. 2 runs, then the wind died and I absolutely couldn't get the thing planning so did the 'body drag of shame' most of the way back to the car, before Jetlag came out on his 95L Naish and kindly swapped to get me home. Got the Mistral 95 out with 25cm tribal weedspeed and enjoyed the rest of the afternoon over the shallow weed bed, between the spit and the big island, and behind the spit.
Were were the last car to leave the spit, and made the pub with only 5 minutes to spare before the bistro closed. Great day! Covered most of the lake!

Tough session, rough as but I loved it. Great to see NBR and Barks enjoying it too.

Quite gusty and swirly - I was mainly down the lake between the power station (where I launched from) and Oak Flats. Some challenging gusts and deep chop but heaps of fun. Spent the last half of the session practicing gybes - finally getting a bit better. The 7m lacked the outright power but was very good in the conditions. I was a bit surprised how much the CofE of the sail changes with outhaul...?
A satisfying session.
