Port Douglas, QLD, AU

Pretty miserable numbers even for me.  Ed and I skipped school to head down for a session that turned out to be more than we bargained for.  Isonic 133 [because I'm fat at the moment] and Neil Pryde V98 7.2m.  Heaps of wind from the get go.  Ed was having a blast on his new and improved 105 Fox, which is great because the poor bugger can't seem to take a trick lately.  Solid 20 knots on the beach and even more out the back.  The sun was shining and the bikini girls were out and about.  Lack of condition and being windier than I prefer.  This old board is bulletproof, never ways more coming out of the water when going in.  No stress fractures.  If I can't lose weight I might have to switch preferences for the new board from the 120l to the 130l severne Fox - which might just be the best board I can get - given my advanced years.  Like I said, Ed was having a ball - didn't manage to blow out his 7m NCX - but having a challenge finding a suitable replacement for his 7.8 Gaastra - that can take his punishment.  Today he was "Going The Distance".

Port Douglas, QLD, AU..Big kids session after work..got down the  beach for happy hr with Andrew nice breeze blowing, rigged no cam 7m on 105 Fox 38cm fin..Didn't take long for the wind to freshen right up and the sea got rough with in coming tide..Andrew sailed realy well and came in happy did well handing on to big rig in strong breeze good effort mate...New Fox ran sweet all arvo and was totaly at home in some really harsh chop new 38cm fin felt a bit soft had a couple of' spin outs' but i think that has a bit to do with my bad sailing habits.. Had to put no cam 7m into full crank down mode for the second half wind was getting up to 23 24kts out the back..Dropped a couple of gybes out wide in the second half a bit over powered in a rough sea, but so nice having a no cam light sail for easy water starts up and gone in a flash.. Didn't really do any down winders water was rough  and was happy having a good blast in a choppy sea..Should of clocked up a few more kms before dark but was getting low on fuel and had a good session, so decided to pull up a little early before shit started to break..Days like this i am glad i own a Fox..cheers ED..
