el bog, Mostly west. Averaging low 20's, but gusting well past 25kts at times.

I rode mah 5.2m Hellcat on the Falcon79. Westerly means big chop at Bog so a BP Weedspeed 31 to keep it all calm.

Dark clouds pushed some heavy squalls - and occassionaly I'd sail through a lumpy section thrashed up like whitewater.

It was testing conditions, and nursing a hangover I was never going to shine today. I white-knuckled for a while then called it just as the serious lads hit the water.

el Bog. Traffic jam at freeway entrance + a poor arab family with their red Holdern Barina caught on fire ("It's a HOLDEN do you want some Sergent ?"). Took 2.5hr to get to Boggy. Rig 5.5 KA race and 92 Patrick. After some tune up with the downhaul (thanks Carl for coming over to my place a few weeks ago), I finally get up to pocket for my 1st bear away and wind ****s out :(. Slug back home. Packup. Wind kicks in again. Rig 4.2 Hucker and 85 FSW board and had a good time. Did my peak on the Hucker. YES, got the 28 !

BTW: Big FO stump in the middle of the lake here. Water is low at the moment. This will be submerged once the lake fills up again. Here it is. This will destory a board if you hit it:

Thanks Stash for the surprise bakery treat during pack up. When Carl gave it to me, it got quickly inhaled. Yum ! Cool

Boggy lake - 20 to 25 with a couple of stronger gusts.

After work sesh.  Arrived to see an angry boggy and a good sized crew cruising up the top having fun.  It looked choppy so rigged the trusty Patrik 87 and 5.7 ka speed.  Headed straight up the top and managed a couple of 31's on the way up the top.  Got up into the top corner to start some bearaways and the wind dropped back to 5 knots.

Managed to glug over to Casey and decided it was easier to walk back than glug.  As we walked back a nice fluffy cloud was making it way toward us.

We made it back to shore and Need speed Stash headed out on 7.8 and 115.  It didnt take long as the water started to rip and he was off.  I really didn't want to re-rig and the wind seemed to be filling in so back out on same kit.

Got hold of a decent gust headed back toward the car park and saw 35.35 on the screen.  Pretty happy considering the water was swirling like a washing machine.

Headed back up the top with Stash, Casey and Parafield and managed a few more nice runs as the days turned to night.

Packed up in the dark and had a catch up with the boys over an apricot croissant and beer - cheers guys.

Patrik 87 / 2021 ka sails 5.7 speed / Black project R30 fin.

Hey Jason, Was the stump you saw pale, about the size of your arm and the visible, above-water part is split in a small 'Y'?  I've seen that one quite a few times this summer lining up with where you indicated. When I've seen it, it's sticking out enough that you see it from afar. I'd guess it's a big limb, possibly dragging on the bottom if it hasn't been blown downwind after all this time.

Much more thicker than an arm. No Y split. 45deg angle pointing east. Anchered to bottom. Sticking out of water about 1/2 ft.

Nice work Captain. I saw you hooking up top before it lulled out, and even from the distance you were flying. In fact nice work anyone who sailed el'Bog y'day. Brutal, messy, frontal sailing. Only the dedicated need apply!

@Jason: Right - that's something new to watch out for then, the one I'm talking about only just peeks its head. Strange it's anchored; during the drought we've removed most obstacles, I thought only driftwood/weed-bergs/carps/tigersnakes to worry about these days... :)
