Mick Saunders (12148km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU SE 4-14 ,mainly 4-9. I picked the wrong gear. T O W i get a point. Tibor is on the foil at 5 knts ....struth ! and the truth ss 125 lt ss 103 w ezzy 6.0 m
sboardcrazy (25098km): 13-18kts SSE 5 Mile Lake George, SA, AU-but it didn't take long to get used to it pretty flat c 5"chop max 7m M2OD- Rs4 ( 112ltres) - 24cms FF Day 1 After 2 days of getting up at 4.30am and driving all day I just wanted an easy session..I haven't sailed the board since last LG but didn't find it hard to get used to it. Figured i better practice going upwind , suss out the speed run and practise some gybes. Lousy at alphas..I just can't get my head around entry angles at 5 mile..I think I'm going upwind in the glass but I'm too far off the wind on the entry and too wide.. I'm hoping to try and overwrite my bad habits with good this trip and get used to a straight front arm and dropping the rig into the turn as i enter..Sort of got it but needs a lot more practise. I hope we get plenty of non ballistic days so I can practise gybes.. funny I thought I'd had a pretty average session.. This session at Coal would be a PB one.. I'll sleep like a log tonight. Heaps of people and plenty of women which is good to see.
James Farley (12722km): Marmong Point, NSW, AU Exocet RF91, Maui Titan 9.0, Starboard Race 1000 - ESE 8-12 knots I was late getting on the water (too much chin wagging) and thought I'd missed it. But breeze filled in nicely for some light wind cruising on the big gear after most others had packed up.
