A nice strong WSW to SW today with occaisonal squalls coming through and low tide mid afternoon. No excuses for not having a crack.
Apart from lack of sailing fitness, everything was going wel until I was coming back up from my 3rd or 4th run just as a 30++ knots squall hit. I really thought i was going to get slammed, and was really strugging to maintain control. I just lept going untill I reached the launch area. and stodd watching the inlet come alive with anger!! Sand blowing, water frothing. I could not help thinking that a younger fitter version of me would have just shouted YEEEHAAA, and launched down the run, but not this version of me. Yep. I piked it big time!
No doubt in my mind, that if I had managed to survive the run without getting smashed, there was a mid 40's run there. But the body and mind said no, and surprisingly really, I listened to it.
So I packed up and went home. It was nice while it lasted. Need more sailing time and fitness.
