No sign of the pooch or anyone playing in the flats so opted to stay local and play in the chop in the lovely shoal bay. River rating again, tide better than yesterday but wind slightly more gusty. Last run best speed but was knackered so called it, off course the slow one decided to have another crack and scored probably the best winds😜 Melville has turned it on the last few days, tide and wind.

Got there thinking the tide would be perfect but with negative surge it was a bit low to start with. Rigged 7.7m on 110 and 26 weedmax- although it looked enough for the 7m, and Jay and Boz had some good speeds already. As soon as I hit the water the wind took a break, and I slogged around for an hour with no gusts and a max of 34. Expecting it would come back, and with the tide getting better I changed down to 7m. Still no joy for a while. I had to be back home since we had friends arriving, but the wind looked like it was picking up again, and boz came in saying he'd cracked just under 37, so I went back out... A few misfires then finally got a gust. One. It was enough. 40kt max, 37.8kt 10 second. Packed up and got home just in time. Looks like the wind picked up for about 30 minutes after I got that run. Oh well cant get all the best wind all the time hahahaha.
