Princess Royal Harbour, WA, AU Not one but two underwhelming sessions in Albany.  Got up early to 22kts on both beacons so headed down thinking I'd get a whole pile of smooth to myself.  Plenty of wind, rigged, launched, got about 50m and the old man called so turned around and back to talk on the phone instead of watch.  No biggie, he just couldn't reach the old girl so called me instead...but since he got me he wanted to moan about his first night in hospital....anyways, finally got off the phone, beacons still reading 20+ but must be in wind shadow at launch so went out again..could see the wind line 100m ahead of me but it stayed there, elusively out of reach, chugged to the other side, managed to smash my shin on the board trying to do a zero speed gybe to avoid being tagged by unknown creatures. Spied Davo's van who had turned up also imagining crusing around in blissful 20kts flats... Chugged back to ever dimishing wind which was also rapidly swinging north. On the leg back, top speed was 3knots dropping to 1kt after which it was walking the last 100m in bare feet hoping not to stand on one of those pesky creatures.   Then a long walk of shame thanks to the shifting wind during which I spied the most evil looking fish (if you could call it that) sitting in about 2cm of water with total camo. Wished I had camera.   Got back, Davo wasn't inspired to go out somehow so took off in search of better things to do.  Then spent the next few hrs in hospital with the old man discussing with the doctors and nurses his condition.  Another few hrs helping the old girl out then the wind booted to a nice SW.  Old girl wanted to go for a walk so I went to try my luck at Shoal bay to clear the head a bit.  Haven't seen the tide so high ever but there was wind so rigged the biggest I had.  Very gusty and hard to get going and can't say it was a good sail but enough to think about something else for a change. iSonic97, 7mSvR8,FF22(18)

Respect Jim for making time for your oldies even when the wind is calling. Hope they're doing ok and avoiding those evil fish lurking in the shallows.
