Flex (20134km): ![]() Melville Beach, WA, AU. Probably the best/flatest conditions for Melville ever with the usual suspects out enjoying the sun. Dead flat, first few runs was fully lit but then pulled a screw in the footstrap so came in to change boards. Went out on the smaller board but wind had eased off slightly. Was super shallow and even at speed was dredging in places. After a while there was a little lull and what I thought was the deeper water (the dark bits) was sketchily shallow. Had to wait till wind came back to escape. After that I figured I'd had a good session so stopped to go home to get the drone. By the time I got back it was all over and everyone rigging down. iSonic97/86, 7mSvR8, FF22(18)
Boz (46322km): ![]() Melville Beach, WA, AU Tide low today was on a 18 Delta and still managed to scrape the bottom, wind was not bad for Melville nice to catch up with the crew 3 days in a row. AV52 KAR 6.3
Jay (16176km): ![]() Patrik Slalom 115, Weedspeed 33, Race + 7.7 at Melville with me mates..... Feel a bit spoilt considering how good the tide has been over the past three days- wind hasn't been bad too!
Pointman (26773km): ![]() PB action on the foil at Rocko today, with a nearly 2K increase in my 2-sec foiling PB (and a 1K increase in the 5X), so pretty rapt Got down there 3ish and it looked proper windy, so I rigged the small combo...Hydro 85 + 550 + 5HG Got on the water around 3:30 and for a change I wasn't stupidly overpowered, and it was nice heading upwind in a steady 25K. Went inshore for an exploratory bearaway, but it was only 24K, Mmmm, maybe today isn't the day for speed? Next run was a 26, and then a scorching 28 that ended in a dismount when I canted over too far and the foil let go. Next run, a 29, and I didn't crash Got another 29, so it wasn't a fluke So, a rolled gold sesh on the foil, and I think 30 is achievable from here. Breeze started to back off around 5, so I made my way back downwind. Stoked with that mission, it was a lot of fun.
Slowboat (50347km): ![]() Melville 7.7m apache 110 radix 26 weedmax super shallow, but enough water left to get over the lower channels (just). Perfect! First run hooked a sick gust on the way out of the carpark- max 40.5, 10s 37.8, but didn't find any more up the top. I was optimistic. Plenty of wind out the back. Jay and Boz didnt waste any of it. Great to get another cracking session at the local. |
