12 days ago 1 categories Wellington Point, QLD, AU JP 104, 7.8, 44 bpfr Was that the first westerly of the season? Well if it was by god it was crappy.
2 teen boys got swept westbound from the wello bank in in a rushing tide with a 12 knot westerly this morning in the high tide, sending them out into the bay.
I was rigging at the time and could see they were good swimmers.
So I kept rigging until 2 woman who didn't know the boys alerted the life guard.
The clubby went out on his board and was in more strife than the boys.
So he come in and radioed for help.
I went to sail to them and lost sight, wind died so I walked up the bank with my kit.
I was more than halfway up the golden mile when a rubber duck came from Cleveland direction, and I directed them in the right direction. They pulled em both out half a k east of the island.
I'm a bit pissed at myself for not acting straight away when I saw them.
They said to the clubbies "why are you saving us, we're fine"
