Valentine, NSW, AU in a very gusty W, WSW, then W again. First time using GPSTC, so hopefully everything worked....

Jimmy's beach, nsw. Patrik 120, Ezzy 6.5, 30 weed - The Wedding Crasher Session. It was a funny spring day, thinking there'd be no sailing as there was no Seabreeze, I tried working on gear and movies. Then the big surfboard blew off the racks and suffered some holes. There's no good swell or sandbanks for surfing and I got no resin right now so not fixing it, I thought about windsurfing instead. Intending to try the flatwater beach side I thought better of it when I saw Jimmy's wasn't too choppy. It was rampy. Best fun I've had in chop so far I think.

There was a wedding on the beach. Behind the bride and groom was a windsurfer, gybes, tacks and shaka hands as he blasted by. I'm not sure if they were hooting as they just tied the knot or hooting at the lone flash mob windsurf display
I'm not sure if they appreciated it or not. I'm not worried though, get married on Jimmy's get windsurfer photo bombed what a ripper Saturday warm westerly session.

Marmong Point, NSW, AU

At last...back in my stomping ground. Very good to see my old mates while saying goodbye to the ones in the north.  The usual gusty westerly...up and down like a yo yo but who is that fussy. Plenty os sunshine while the water isn't all that warm but not icey either.

Enjoyed my new Hyperlite sail. It is quite different from the Foilglide sails. More to evaluate yet but all's positiv so far.

 10-25kts WNW then 20-30kts ( 25-30kts down the bottom ) W  level 0.23-25m Budgewoi Lake, NSW, AU

 5.5m Mach 2 - RS2 ( 90ltres) - 22cma Atomic for a short time then

5m Mach 2 - RS1 ( 80ltres) - 16.5cms FF ( cutdown 22)

yeehaa! Finally,  I scored some strong consistent wind all the way down the nm..Tongue out

I thought " if I don't get smashed I'm going to have some decent stats..Laughing Undecided

2 sec is my best since LG 2022 and my 4th best 2 sec. Nm is my 2nd best..Cool

 Board Pb for both.

The FF may not be as fast as the Atomics but I trust it in small chop and it's more than fast enough for me..Tongue out

Wasted most of my energy rigging today. I wasn't expecting much more than 15-20kts and decided to do a Mobsy and rig the 5.5m on the 111ltre board..by the time I'd done that it had kicked in so I took the 90ltre.

I was hoping for some laid back sailing to practise gybes but it was super strong and tiring down the bottom . I decided to come and change down.

By the time I had the new combo ready I was worried there wasn't enough . I managed to score strong wind at the start and even stronger at the bottom.

Blowing a solid 25-30kts W as I finished the nm.

It was so strong I decided to wait for it to ease a bit.

The strong stuff picked the board up and it did a 360 and then the whole kit got ripped out of my hands and thrown 5m downwind..

I had a long walk out to water deep enough to start.

I was pretty buggered but the conditions were A1 with the 16.5cm fin allowing me to go everywhere and super strong wind and flatwater. I didn't get any other decent runs so after a while I went in..ZZZ but buzzing..Tongue outTongue out

Just me then Mike from Peely . Local guy from 7th and later shift was Mick H and Bruce.

Welcome Robbo, good first post. I had a look at your FIT file and all your setting look good.

Good speed Sue!

Thanks Andrew.

I forgot to mention the extra ' stress' of the nm as I screamed through about 100 low flying swans! They took fright as I came and crossed across at 90 degrees to my path. They were at my height. I had visions of collecting a few of them. Surprised

Hi Robbo, good job, welcome.

Swan blasting Sue, sounds epic. Don't do a mobsy and rig 165ltr when greg is on 120ltr. Super good speeds, congrats. The big come back is on.

Thanks Dave  and Dizzy. There was a big group of people at Peely setting up vases of flowers on tables etc.I told them that the wind was going to pick up so they better find somewhere sheltered. They ended up going behind a tree and survived. Undecided

Lucky you didn't have Budgy wind up there today or the wedding party would have been blown away. Laughing

Windsurfing wedding crasher is exclusive to gpstc post, no camera.
I was talking to to Sue about her swan situation and how she didnt take a camera either.
It's why i started always recording, becasue i went through an epic flock of birds once and didn't have camera so i vowed to always have in case ever again.

Very stoked for you Sue. 2nd best nauti ever is a super sweet spring achievement. I thought i might have at chance at catching you, but i think you might not be done yet Laughing
Sounds like you've been holding back for a bit. But i can picture this swan run, into the shallows - zero holding back there, I think you've gone totally animal mode there, super well done.

Laughing All this talk is making me think I should pull my head in before I get injured..Undecided

I'd already been down there with a 22cm so I had a pretty good idea I'd be safe with the 16.5cm.

Dezza I  felt sorry for some of the swans..they were struggling to get airborne. 1 laggard was just sitting there. I was praying it wouldn't try and take off as it would get me. Luckily it was lazy and  just sat there..

Ahh bottom schmottem. You wont hit it again. I reckon it's like gybing at Jimmy's, if i think about the sharks lurking below, for sure i fall in. If i don't think about it, gybe success. I think you've got well enough experince to not fall.
