Smiths Lake, NSW, AU. Skywing 94ltr, Naish matador 6.0, 1300/400. Not good, but can’t say it was bad. Just not real good. Lack of wind, wrong spot.

Wing no 22 - Ideal conditions for once

Not winging PBs as I used to post it as windsurfing.. Best 2 sec is 12.x but that may have been as I fell off the back coming up on the foil at Coal. Undecided

Finally some progress. I've been coming up steeply on the foil and falling off the back. Dave S suggested putting the foil back a bit further in the track.

Steve was there and helped me setup the foil and then had a go on the board and said it was ok. We ended up putting it as far back as it could go.

I was a bit nervous after yesterday and not having winged for months.

Progress -

I find I can go upwind easily in light winds but once it starts to get decent I struggle. I usually use the wing to get upwind but decided to try back foot pressure. Much easier

I was getting pulled off / falling in to leeward when ever I got up on the foil .. Mm you go where you look so look upwind..( better)

I also tried to lean back a little more when I had power. I fell in to windward so that was preferable

I managed 3 wobbly turns without falling in so that was good.

I felt I was getting the idea of wing and board pumping

I was getting a bit bored but on the last run I went for it in a gust , pumped and it felt like I just came up a little bit , pushed it down and back up another 2 x. I wish I had someone watching as I'm not sure if I was on the foil or not?

Anyway a good way to stop. I'm actually keen to give it another go..

As usual managed to stand up and get back to the start without issue.
