6 hours ago Coodanup, WA, AU. Wasn't planning on sailing due to a lingering hand injury but since quite a few heading down went for the drive for a chat and maybe get the drone out plus get out of the house and fill the van up before the inevitable panic buying starts. Not much wind (we watched Fingers waiting for a gust for over an hr) but after a while watching a few out seemed an ideal day to give the hand a go. Hung about in the trees a little and seemed fine so rigged. Of course once rigged wind booted but could not be bothered changing down so went out over powered. Just a few short runs and decided to cut it short not to push my luck. Luckily I did as on rigdown the UJ had sheared 95% through. Was good to get back on the water and catch up. iSonic97, 7mSvR8, TWS29

Turned up at Liptons and found Antman & Doddi chewing the fat under a shady tree. Ant was rigged with a 5.6 and in his wetsuit, ready to go. Apparently he'd been waiting for almost 4 hours - that's dedication for you!
After a bit of a chat with the lads, I finally decided to rig as the wind looked to be building. Doddi went home for some lunch but never returned. Bad luck mate, it came in nicely!
Setup: Falcon 118L + 6.1 Loft Spd Blade + 33cm Tribal SpdWd, then CA49 & 24 DeltaSpd. Got my best times on the Falcon. Ant caned it as usual. Nice work mate.

Early start today as forecasts were conflicting. Was looking 50-50 for a while. Good chatting with Doddie waiting for wind. Dan rocked up and the wind slowly started to fill in. Got strong enough to venture over to the grey side but was way to holey over there. Best funs were in the corner with some solid gusts to push you through. Powerd by the 5.6 P7,87 ISO,25 ws.

Session with Slow one and Terry at gusty Melville. Thank God slowies got half decent numbers to back the Flying Ant. Was licky tiiming coming in from the bank planing all the way then the wind shut down to zero, caught out two kiters just drifting towards Perth.

Got to Peli at 4 and it looked proper windy. Rigged the H85 + 6.0 + 460 combo and had a crack.
I got three runs in, before it lulled out, and switched South East! WTF?
Nice while it lasted.

Was a great forecast a few days ago to go south, but it went a bit unstable and the wind didn't fill in early so I stayed local.

Got there earlyish for Melville and pulled out the bigger gear, starting with 128. But by the time I'd rigged the wind had picked up so used the 110.
First run at 3:30, hit a wicked gust as I got to the sandbar, but it was too much to sheet in on the bearaway! What??? That never happens at Melville. So I sailed back and grabbed my weight jacket to make up for the 12kg of "muscle" I've lost in the past year or so. Of course that was gust of the day, and I didn't get any more like that, but there were still plenty of short gusts around. Had awesome fun. Found two decent gusts for 38 on the dial- similar speeds both tacks. The second one came really late- about 10 minutes before the wind shut off completely and went offshore... Planed back to carpark just as it completely glassed off. phew
Good to see Nic and Anita sailing local, as well as the usual suspects- Terry, Steve, and Darryl for the one run before shutdown. Lucky for Jay he only turned up after it was completely dead otherwise he might have rigged for nothing.
Awesome sunset.
