Quick session at Inverloch on the sandbar at low tide - short runs so no records here but great fun.  Welcome in 2009!!!  Should be some bigger numbers from those at the Pit as the wind is cranking as I write!!!

Struggled a bit today with a sore back and couldn,t really grunt it down in the big gusts, but had a great day regardless. The other boys were flying, there will be some big grins tonight.

Doppler speeds.

Starting the year with a BANG! Yeeharrr!Smile

CA40, TM48. Used the 5m 09 Koncept for early runs but at the end I changed to the 4.4 07 Koncept and went faster easier including my best run. Should have changed down earlier. Got some BIG clues from this on hwo to set and tune my 5m.

A very good way to start the New year.I was going to sail with John at Inverloch but ended up making the trip to the Pit trip. Our best times were done on the incomming tide with all its lumps and bumps. The wind backed off as the strip started to smooth off.I ran the CA 40 with the KA 5.8 and 5 and used the TMV7 and  TM 26 fins. Pushed the 26 to a new Pb according to Mal,just love that fin. I mainly use it as a distance fin but as a GP speed fin it rocks. No spin out once up to speed and didn,t even hint at being over powered, even at 41.8. Had a bash at Nm,s but just couldn,t get it together, unlike Spotty with his KA 6.6. Its great that we now have a Nm courseTongue out

Now we just need to keep ticking the boxes like this for the rest of the year Wink

A very Happy New Year !!!   Started on CA44 6.6, wind got stronger and 44s peaks were going down so kept going, by the time I came in others were on 5s & 4.4s.

NM PBstats, CA44 KA Asym23 Ka Koncept 6.6 with a peak speed of 44.85 kntsSurprised, accelerated from 30 to 40 knots in around 7.5 sec.   My arms felt like they would explode just before I reached the SW bank as th 6.6 was just on the brink of its design parameters I guess before it accellerated off down the course to hit its own PB peak and save my arms from further tortureYell.

Late seession switched to '09 Koncept 5.8 and increased peak and 10 sec av some more.

Could have been better! The wind was still difficult compared to our best days at Sandy Point, but managed a few runs to save my dignity...

Thanks guys, good to find NM potential at the Pit with such high peak speeds in inolved.   Nm here could increase more with some more serious wind to up the speed at the start of the run.

We may even be able to chase up some photos from yesterday including my NM as I reached SW bank and went into warp speed with a OH Shizen FrownSurprisedYell look on my dial.

Now its gusting over 50 knots/av 45 at the Prom, so time to go and do some damage in the other catorgories,Smile with Daffy, Mal and maybe others?? a surprise visit from Slowie??????

And we thought we were going fast on Lake BG yesterday? Where's the NM Matt?  From Spotty's description it sounds like you start up near the east bank coast thru the light zone behind MI's sandune and then finish off on the course proper?

Should be more of the NM - a knot is after all a NM per hr.

Nope. still growingCry

Sandy NM line is only for Hard Men like Spotty or crazy young whipper snippers like Mat and Kato.

Plowing through 2 ft chop at 30+ knots is not my idea of fun and too much for my old body!Embarassed I will stick to the odd NW day with a low tide up the Yannakie channel. Smile

bugger... no big storms over winter/spring to sort them out. I'm hanging out to use the 5.0m again. Its been WAY too long. Got some FF points saved up for the next blow. Fingers crossed! The smallest of the '09 KAs I've used is the 5.8m. Once. Cry But it feels great. Bet you guys are stoked at getting some proper runs in. I'm SO jealous...

Good question Sausage. I spend half the day standing in the water waiting for enough wind to use my 5.0. The problem was the wind was just sailable on the 5 and direction being a little broad. My best speeds were set whe the wind went WSW and I had just enough wind to get going...

It says a lot about how fast the other guys are going too, because the wind barely got over 30 knots from the wrong direction.
