Primbee, NSW, AU 97 futura m3 6.2

a real gusty westerly today. Never got in the groove, boom clamp nut came off, ripped my sail, snapped a battern one of those days. Good to see some faces that have been missing from the lake for a while...there will be some good scores i'm sure.

North Warp 6.3, Carbon Art 47 Speed, MUF Delta XT16.  Great little after work sail.  Great water, shame I couldn't have squeezed out another knot or two...

AB 54 78L, Mach 1 6.2m, Delta XT 18.

Great after work session. Wind fairly consistent for a westerly and water level relatively low without much chop. Though the fin will likely be a 17 once I have sanded the chunks and grind marks out of it.Laughing

Congrats Matt - great speed.  Wish I'd stayed around to witness it!  You've been sneaking upon on those peak speeds PBs for a while so I bet it's super satisfying to jag them!

Watch out - Nudie's on a motorbike now, looking for all the world like a vaccination inspector!  Very hard to identify him behind that dark full face helmet!  I reckon there'd be laughs a minute if you just cruised by and put slips of random paper under people's wiper blades, suggestive of a parking ticket from the local council for parking on the grass against regulations!

It would be great if people obeyed the LGA rules like all the rest of us have , instead we are congratulating the rule breakers for their great sailing efforts. If we can’t rely on them to do the responsible thing like others maybe they shouldn’t bother coming back when we open up. 🤬🤬🤬

Cheers for the congrats comments, I must say it has only taken me about six years to get from 36 to 37 knots and took pretty perfect westerly conditions and tide levels to do it in.

Alan, I have read the comments on the St George team site for this day regarding out of area LGA persons who attended primbee and the pbs they obtained and can only assume that this is who you are refering to. Especially since I live in the same LGA as Primbee.

Council boundaries have really affected the ability of many speedsters to sail at primbee during the westerlies this year. Im guessing that as the crow flies I live about the same distance north from Primbee as what Jetlag does south but I am lucky that Im in the same LGA.

So I wanted to give a big shout out to our members such as Jetlag and MT and maybe yourself Alan, (and Dezza and other non Speedster regulars), who are respecting these rules imposed on us by the governing authorities in the hope to reduce the covid impact on our area, by not sailing at the favourite spot when there are perfect westerly conditions are in. I really understand it must be hard to watch and even more frustrating when you see others blatantly disregarding those rules in place for our own safety.

Anyways, given the current vaccination rates in NSW, there is light at the end of the tunnel and people from the greater Sydney region will again soon be able to sail at primbee (legally). I remember one of the best ever westerly sail days was during November a few years back.

Yes Matt, comments about Sydney guys. Well done on your pb’s and good to see you at primbee again. You certainly haven’t lost any skill after foiling.
