A typically gusty westerly at Narrabeen Lake. Sunny skies so too nice not to go out. Had to wait for a gust that came every 10 minutes or so. Wind varied between 0 and 15 knots at most. Had to stop sailing in the end mainly cause the soles of my feet were totally numb. Not that I was sailing much anyway, more like standing around in the water. Still, it's always nice to get wet.

Foot numbingly cold water today, but quite nice once the feet were numb. It was another frustrating westerly day, but as Rex said, it was a lovely sunny day. I spent the last half hour swimming/kite dragging in 700m after I broke another boom into 3 pieces. I took out the new BGT-31 today, it was nice to have a display again.

Wicked place to sail my first time there. First time in a shore break and my V8 paid the price with 4 broken batternsCry.

But man what a great place to sail. I can only imagine what it would be like in a NE'r. Laughing

Heh Pete, you've been snooping!

When the boom actually broke, I was hooked in the harness, cruising comfortably in about 15 knots, then I think the front broke first, which bent the port boom arm back, snapping off just before the clew. Then the power of the sail broke the clew pulley off the starboard arm, which prevent me from being able to sail back to shore.

I was in the water still hooked into the harness holding half a boom.

Happily, Windsurfing Sales are looking after me though. Thanks Bud! Smile
