Hardies for the marathon.

RSS MKIII 7.0, JP Slalom IV 60cm, JP slalom2 30cm.

Whent real well in the marathon. maybe top ten or twelve at a guess out of 32ish ppl.

Board was great, however should have used 32 or 34 cm fins. found heading back upwind pretty hard work.

After the race stole Elmos JP Slalom VI 65cm and whent for a blast to claudesville(i think, maybe thats even further away!) with the muppet.

Such a comfortable board with the 10deg 38cm pointer. Very nice ride.

Thanks again for organising the event Hardie!

Nah toby i beat slowie in the race real bad. he was imediatly in front of me at the first mark but couldnt get up wind coz he used too small a gear.I only just made it to the mark.

Has anyone got some unofficial results of the race? I think Phil came in just behind me, and a guy on an RS6 and kinetic white board was in front.

GO GAZ!!!!

Alex, we only counted the top six. The finish mark was too far away from the shore to get an accurate picture of who had crossed the line. Adding to the confusion was a number of sailors didn't have any clear markings on their sails, and as sailors crossed, they tended to fall in which added to confusion as to who had just crossed and who was actually a completed contestant getting started again to sail back to shore.

Now we know what works and what doesnt as far as spectator enjoyment and accurate finishing data. The next one if possible we will have the 2nd marker deeper into the end of the bay so sailors go past the boat ramp and the back out again. This all depends on wind direction on the day. The Finnish line needs to be well defined and pre race directive as you cross the line to keep going to stay clear of rest of the fleet.

It was great to watch, but sorry about the completed positions, we just couldn't get a clear view.
