Not a bad day at Mahers. Fairly rough in parts with the odd flat section here and there. Good to see so many there and catch up with most. Fairly comfortable on my kit although some nice stacks in the rougher sections. No luck with the gybes yet again.

I had quick sail at Inverloch with most of the Southerly Busters and the Pit Crew. I decided to take out the wave kit due to chop was starting to build and still getting over last week day operation. Well should have stay home as after I got 29.23 speed on the Quad, I thought great I could get over 30 on my wave kit, well I ending stacking on the next run and now I have a broken wrist (@ 27.47 knots). Oh well at least its winter.

Area 45 with the rest of the guys, never really got dialed in today in the chop.  Last time I sailed the prokids I moved the front straps outboard and it felt fine today maybe inboard would have given me more control in the chop.  One positive was the new deck grip worked well, didnt slip off at all. Also may need to concider a different fin for the real chopy stuf in future.

LOCATION:  AREA 45

WIND:  SE- 20-25 KNTS

SAILORS:  WINDRIDER, JMAN, OLD SALTY, EJMACK, CROWEMAN

AND A FAIR FLOCK OF PIT CREW- JOHN, PETE, MATT and ADO

GEAR:  Xcite Ride 130, KA KOYOTE 5.9, 38 cm Mean FIn

DETAILS:  One of those days where Mother Nature gets a bit grumpy and decides to slap you around a bit.

Low tide was early but the wind wasn't in fully.  The tide started to turn and come in and the wind built- creating some very interesting chop!.

The water was also quite murky so finding the edge of the bank was done by feel!.  I managed to find a tree submerged off the mudbank and the result was 3 holes on the starboard rail of the board.  The 5.9 was fully powered up but not too much of a handful.  The tide was definately a challenge though especially over the shallow stuff where it raced at a good 5-7 knots.

Still it was great to see over 10 guys on the water....particularly good to see our Pit Crew cousins sampling the delights of area 45.....happy for that to happen as long as the sharing extends to the Pit!!!!

Navi still in the van somwhere.

We ended up having a quick sail at San Remo on the way home. Will post tomorrow if its worth it.

Thanks guys. Sounds like San Remo was good wave jumping today, may there would have been better, but I was havingf fun until the wrist. Oh well will focus on windsurfing ideas for next season.

Sorry to hear that it's broken Steve. Hopefully you won't be off the water for too long.

It was a great sail at San Remo on the way home. There was a good swell today which meant lots of waves out there. The SE lines up really well for jumping and it was fun riding the waves back in. Pity we got there so late but it was like a "bonus session"

Very unlucky on the wrist - hope it heals quickly.  Would like to thank the Southerly Busters for their hospitality today.  (should have bought some duty free grog whilst there - when are you opening the bottleo Doug?)

Jerry, thats a nice gybe especially considering the chop.

Didn't manage to get around to the entrance of the Inlet on the way home. Did it look any good?

Evan, the entrance looked a mess  no banks and needed a bit more east in the direction to get through, san remo was the better option.

Excellent speed for the JP XciteRide 130 Mick, hope you can fill the holes easily. I did some repair jobs on mine a few weeks back by myself.

Can't wait to join you guys on the water again. Back from Europe / Thailand trip end of June.

Thanks Jak,Embarassed

i'm using some Epi Filler...First coat is on...next coat tomorrow in readiness for the next big blow!!

I should have mentioned that I got so p#ssed off with the tree branch, that I broke it into about 5 pieces and chucked it up onto the mud bank!!

Sorry if anyone hit the debris!!
