Rye 40-50 sailors, 7.4Kcpt' SL75 / Kode early on, and 5.7 / sp53 that wanted to go real fast but I couldn't keep it launching off all the chop while trying to pick/dodge/smash your way thru it with not such a low tide.  Wind was really cranking and spent the rest of the day on the Kode112.

Tough going in very rough conditions at Rye, I couldn,t get comfy.  The board wanted to go but I just kept launching it. My kahunas aren,t big enough to go fast in those waves.

Wimped it and finished the session on Wave gear

Great to see so many boards on the water, must have been 50.

Love Muss Medium and 6.4 Koncept then SSD Custom and 5.0

CA SL55,RSR 6.2,Venom 30.

I should have put the Venom 32 in to smoothen things out through the pyramids.

I have to agree with the others - a pretty hard day actually - not very flat water and for much of the day on again off again barely planing wind strength. Arrived at 7.45am hoping to do some distance, didn't hit the water until 10am or so due to lack of forecast wind, then by the time it finally came in after 2pm or so I was too tired and cold and had a stuffed batten. Couldn't be bothered changing down a size so packed it in. Great to see so many out braving the cold mid winter day though - huge crowd for such a cold day. Somehow it felt colder even than winter at the PiT. Still, good to have a bit of a blast and give the muscles a bit of a workout and great to catch up with so many familiar and new faces.

JP slalom 84L, JP 28cm slalom fin, 2009 KA Koncept 5.8
