Spot X, Peak speed 38.08 knots. More laterLaughing

Bigworld speed veneer 54, Bigworld 26cm #25, KA5.0 wind NW 25 -30knots.

First time at the lagoon and big thanks to Michael for the ride up.

Martin perservered all day and got PB,s too - (along with some good bruises too I suspect afgter some rather spectactular crashes) Well done Martin on the PB's.

Good on ya Michael for carring on after rather vicous catapult which smashed his hip into the boom and left him in a u shape for the rest of the day.

Very good place to speed sail but there is speed sailing etiquette employed here in the interests of safety.

Big thanks to the speed kiters for being so accomodating.

Absolutely stoked with PB,s  - http://www.gps-speedsurfing.com/default.aspx?mnu=user&val=69037&uid=973

Kaipara Lagoon, at low tide a very short restrictive speed run.

Screwed before my 1st Run, lost my balance on my 1st start & was flicked into the boom, deep internal gash on the hip could hardly walkCry.

Had to continue, knew I wouldn't get any speed but had to know if the small 12cm & 15cm fins would work?

Would these little fins be too difficult to get going, have no control, just spin out, spin out in chop, spin out going broad, spin while trying to stop? Had to know & over come lots of pain to do so.

All in all a great day & great location, I will be back!

Chris - great work on the PBs - you looked convincing sailing them ... I was just hanging on - then acting the crash-dummy!

Thanks Chris & Martin for joining the roady mission.

Martin your high speed crashes looked spectacular & Chris you looked rather Lit up for such a difficult location.

Mike, not sure if the trade would be fair? our place was rocking last night with the 70+ knot winds, massive ligthning strikes & thunder. Not to mention the constant rain for the last few months, haven't mown the lawns for 4 months due to the rain!

Post me speeds soon.

Nice work guys,  congratulations on the PBs. It is certainly a top spot but it does get crowded quite quickly. It gets pretty scary when you have the kiters blasting down the track at 45+ knots, Gavin's 50+ average shows the spot has all the potential we could ask for. I hope to be able to start sailing in about a month from now, it has been a long and tedious recovery and I look forward to catching you all on the water when I am able. Best!
