Oh no Tobi, what broke?

Helped to rescue a bloke off Pinaroo today whose uni broke.

I discovered that towing a sail into shore is harder than it looks 

mast- 2 LOC , numerous crashes, bought for $100 ages ago- couldnt happen to a nicer mast !

Jury rig sail in was pretty impressive: rolled top of sail down to boom level, sat on board, boom head between legs, grab foot of sail and arm around sail, clew of sail in the air.

That's very creative, I hope someone got a photo!

Sorry to hear about the mast Tobi. Sounds like you got value for money out of it though. Biggest shame is that it happened so early in the day (not even 3kms).
