Snides (28038km): Lake Preston, WA, AU pretty dissapointed with the speeds, thought i had nailed a few gusts with a 5.5 evo2/jp45/new lockwood 23 but the gps thought otherwise. long day with a 4.00am start and a 7.00pm finish lots of fun with team lockwood-(the man himself,Daz,Recycle) all testing out the new blades. i had a 26 in the xfire 80 and this felt ultra stable and fast(?) through the small chop. switched to the jp45/lockwood 23 and this combo felt brilliant but just didnt translate to any better speeds. good to catch up with the bent one ,JJ and Rod | ||||||||||||||||||
Recycle (17196km): yoyos with a few crew am shattered have not sailed that far for a long time on top of some serious overtime workwise to make it possible, CA52/F2missile rsr6.2 various fins

Slowboat (47716km): preston mission... a lot of day wasted standing around. Good crew to keep it from being too lonely. Rigged for the forecast- 5.5m and 47. Wind was coming through in very short bullets with not much either side, but we were all expecting it to pick up. Did one run barely planing and was lucky to make it back before the wind shut down for a while. I paced around and then a lightbulb came on and I went back to the car and got the 112/68cm board. That was better. It floated. Spent most of the day on that and was having a good time despite the lack of grunt. Hooked a nice little gust for my fastest run of the day with 39 flat on the dial. The wind came back for a short spurt after a few of the guys left, so I plugged the 47 in. Got some nice gusts heading up to the sand bar before it promptly shut down. Sat on the bank for a bit waiting for it to come back, and it did- for about 30 seconds. Enough for snides to go all the way to the east side. And it didnt come back so I did a half walk of shame back to the car. Left the small board on the beach hoping it would finally fill in. It started pissing down and the wind was honking as I waded into the water. Then it stopped as I was about to hop on for epic run of the day. And it glassed off... so home we went. I think that was my slowest session ever at LP. Probably wont be back there for a while. Sounds like it was nice at Manbra. Matty said he got a couple of 39s and was powered up all day on his 5.9m. |
