How to get the max out of your day? Woke up at 5am, drove 175km (+ 2hrs) to the spot. Rigged my 7.8 because the wind wasn’t that strong as forecasted and jumped onto the water together with Pat E. It was a bit a mix of 2 spots today: Did my 2 fastest runs (incl NM, 500, 2sec) at Hompelvoet. Did my 3 slowest runs at Kabbelaar. Wind was up and down all the time. Measured up to 20 kts (gusts) when we started and when I came back, Pat measured only 13-17 kts.. Wind was also a little more N then the forecasted NW. It was again cold today and even had to use my neoprene cap.

It was a short early morning session, so I was a bit surprised to see my distance… Left the spot at 11am to go working. Happy to have another 60+ AVG with my 7.8m². Fin, sail and board are really working awesome together. My nautical mile isn’t bad either knowing the conditions (lowest speed was only 45 !!): very gusty and shifting wind (because of the trees).

When you come back from Hompelvoet it’s always a bit difficult to choose the right direction to your car, especially when the windangle has changed. The speedstrip at Hompelvoet was approx 5 km’s from our car…

I changed my wetsuit for my uniform and headed straight to the airport of Brussels (another 2hr drive), flew to Venice (Italy) and back to Brussels. Then another flight to Spain and now I am here enjoying some tapas and wine in Bilbao while uploading my session. Cheers !!

Hopefully my next session will be with smaller gear… I know my big gear by now !!

First day of our mini-trip with 6 Belgians to the south of France.

Also my first ride with a new \"old\" Evo3 5.5 -> what an amazing stable and fast accelerating sail ! Nice.

Not so easy conditions, wind square, not to strong and gusty.

There were a lot of sandbanks and we didn't know wich ones could be passed over with 21 cm. fin... late afternoon tide got higher and sailing got a lot easier.  Shame I made a crash and broke my boomhead so had to walk back from LF to the pier where our car was standing (2,5 km. along the beach).

But -> very happy sailing with and a new PR ! Yes !

Shame i had some problems with my GPS :

Correct 10\" runs are : 79,98 - 77,75 - 77,60 - 76,99 - 76,74 (AVG = 77,8 !).
