first day on the 5.8 and tried it with the isonic 111 with the mxr 42! of all things, strange combo but it seemed to work nice, the mxr fins are wicked the 111/42 just flies the chop like iv never experienced whilst no railing in the gusts, no stickie feeling just loose enough! only my nerves stopped me from gunning the waves, slowly getting my nerve back and the gear is really helping, fitness next and im sure 30kt averages will be on the bill.

isonic 111 / mxr 42 g11 / koncept 5.8

Fludyers looked good but no one there so looked at Dip. Someone struggling in big wind shadow. Ian and Rog not rigged so we went to Fludyers. Also suggested to girlie and boy friend they join us (sorry forgot names). Used 85l then 5.2/4.7/4.2m as wind gradually increased.
Choppy to start but as tide neared low sea got smoother. Al, Phil, Ian, Andy Marsh, Strawb,Mark D also out; Rog rested his knee for another day. A slim Paul V preferred to walk a fluffy little god (eh?). Great fun, testing conditions sometimes with a few blown out gybes and some cracking ones on the outside. Strawb was flying on his old kit.
A Spitfire came and did a fantastic display above us, a bit surreal and scared the beejabers as it first flew up behind me; thrilling to be sailing maxed out with a Spitfire looping above.
