Wind W then SW 20 - 25 kts then 25 - 30 kt squalls

Col, Simmo, Pete J, Kato and Mat

Did the road trip with a few busters and a few pit crew plus extras.  Wisely sat the squalls out but felt in control in the 25 kt blows.  Played the sling shot game.  Started on the Easterly bank and sailed across to the speed run and took off woohoo.  Acceleration plus.  Almost pucker up time!

A day at the pit, no wind in the morning, plenty late afternoon. I rigged nearly every sail I own, 7.3, 6.7, 5.7 136 super sport, 105 rocket. Didn't translate into any good speeds though.

LOCATION:  ANGLING CLUB

WIND: W-SW- 15-25KT with SQUALLS

GEAR:  CA FR77, 44cm C3, KA oyote 6.6

DETAILS:  Good day's sailing with some big wind and rain squalls.  There was a bit of west i it some we sailed to the outer bank and ran towards the rotunda....nice flat water close to the bank but heaps of lumpy stuff in the the more open sections.

Got caught on the bank when a nasty squall came through and just sat underneath the sail until I could see more than 10cms in front of my face!.

Inverloch, VIC, AU    Back in the water after weeks of unfriendly winds. X-Cite 110L and 6.5 Gaastra Matrix. Very enjoyable afternoon with the IWC crew until the storm fronts came through and added about 20knots to the wind strength, with the rain reducing visibility to zilch. Don't you just love Inverloch?! Note: the figures shown against me don't include the spectacular "sail" down the esplanade and Toorak Rd to home (see www.inverlochwindsurf.org.au) Embarassed.

Thanks Guys - Inspired by the VSS team!!  This old codger has got some speed in him yet!  Interesting day and my body is feeling every bit of it today.  First serious day out with the CA 63 Freeride and it fitted like a glove and the 5.8 Koncept was rock solid and worked real well with the new KA skinny mast.  The Pit Crew set up the course after I had sailed way past the point of no return on the Inlet so long walk back.  Took their guidance and launched from the East bank and sling shotted onto the speed bank.  Tough pushing through the chop at speed but the CA 63 took it in its stride as I headed for the bank thinking what can go wrong?  Miss the sling shot turn and hit the bank at 30 kts!!  Luckily for me it did not happen.  Lock it in and feel that smooth water.  The pooffer valve was half puckered as I pictured Matt's off a few weeks ago so I always pulled up short!

Good stuff, Doug!  Now you have spurred me on the crack 30 knots this season. I might have a chance with my newly-acquired iSonic 86.
