Mallacoota,

Just as well the company is not too bad because 2014 has not produced one enjoyable session, cannot remember such gusty crapy conditions ever.

0 - 35 plus kn big board small sail not enjoyable

Dawn Patrol!

Drove in with the headlights on just as dawn broke. Rigged 5.4m and that all I used. I felt a bit underdone a lot of the time and had trouble getting out of Gybes on the plane quite a few times, but it was comfortable sailing. I think a 5.8m would have been ideal for me but I didn't get a 2014 5.8m Frown

A couple of speed runs on the IS50 with C3 Slingshot 21. Then onto the IS87 slalom with C3 Venom (thanks Craig) for a 1hr. My best Alpha was right in the middle of the 1hr. Smile

Stayed warm with plenty of Rubber! Smile

Got out before the tide trapped us but Craig 'hardman' Hollins was still jacking up the KM's. Looked like he was settling in for the day.

A Dawn to Dark session today. Started with the crew and was on the water before 8 am, but the wind wasn,t enough for me to jump onto speed gear so I stayed on a 6.6 with the 53. Chased everyone for a few hrs and stopped for lunch as everyone left before the high tide trapped them.

As they left the wind picked up with regular 30kt squalls which was just too much for the big sail and the chop, 5.8 time Tongue out. With the high tide comes some magic runs across the east bank chasing the swell lines. Stoked to see a 30Nm for todays session as the board was barely touching the water, most of the runs were in the high 29.

Had a Speed Kiter join me on the course but that was the only other sailor for the arvo sessions and he left before it got dark.

Made a slight misscalculation with the tide and didn,t look at the height Embarassed and the trailer nearly went under so it was a very late finish.

Worked out a few things today

Matts too young to sail distance

Only 1 Southerly Buster can sail flat water

Booties work but ya feel like a gumby when jybing and they do stop holes appearing in your feet

Doing gym sessions means your dont hurt at the end of a session.........I hope

Sl 53, Koncept 6.6/5.8, Venom 30 (Thanks Daffy)

Mat and I went doen to the inlet at 4.30pm to see what Craig was doing. Should have guessed. He was still sailing!

The tide was still to high to walk or drive in so we went via the high tide track and a lot of bush bashing. Stood on the dune just above where Craig was gybing but could not get his attention. Official sunset was 5pm. At quarter past 5 we decided to leave before we couldn't find out way back through the bush. Craig was still going!!

He must have well over 300km's up by then.Cool
