Billy, for some unusual reason in a NE the bay chops up way much more than a SE.  The waves are only about 5metrez apart in frequency as the bay is very shallow and also is very uneven with a submerged coastal reef just off the beach.  Altogether it's the biggest washing machine and the closest I can compare it to are videos of the gorge*

* have been known to exaggerate occasionally
