Glory Holes, Australind, WA, AU

just a quick blast this arvo as supposed to be at home getting stuff sorted for daughters birthday.

made the call to go with the 7.8 and 102 combo as per usual it picked up by about five knots and started to become a bit of a handful.

stretch was looking a lot more comfortable on a 6.6.

i was too slack to change down so got tired pretty rapidly but was still a pretty good sail.

Man Over Board 115l Tush Lightning 6.4 Delta 190

Very enjoyable sail at Fangys with Mike .Lightish wind .No great speeds. but I completed more jibes than I ever have

So PB on completed jibes (To me a jibe is a down wind turn where I dont actually fall off)

Light wind sail with Barry at Fangy's, from Wamba St, (high tide with storm surge), as usual lots of fun grooving in the smooth.

Wind was light to start with, but slowly picked up, was stuck on 28s with the odd low 29 thrown in, so stoked to catch a nice gust that took me to 30. Wasn't long after Barry had gone in! (Thanks Barry)

Tried the reshaped 18cm 50deg in the 65cm board with the 6.6 koncept. Too much back foot presure upwind would spin it out, but downwind felt very nice. 50deg isn't quite enough rake in the shallows with rope weed. Had to stop a few times to clear the fin, too much on it to be able to jump it off, especially with no chop to use as a ramp!

Strange GPSvisulalizer still isn't working, so here's my google earth tracks.

fangys inner bank

As you see with the high tide the indide run was working.

Was a bit nervous of Fin's rocks, couldn't see the posts, did I get close enough?

Are they under water with the high tide?

Or has somebody removed them?

OK I've merged Fins rocks and the above.

merge fins rocks and my tracks

My measurements make my closest track 260m away from the big rock, maybe I wasn't close enough to see the posts.

Any way now I have a better idea of where they are.

Lancelin, WA, AU

Re-posting after sabotage attempt by Fangy. +1 the lumpy bit here at Lancelin. Rigged up middle afternoon with Fangy and Matt but the wind was dying fast. Rather than get becalmed in the seal-bathing area I decided to call it quits and knock the top off a red or two. Entertainment provided by watching drifting teabaggers attempting to  ensnare fishing boats.

Tomorrow will be the day.

Great sail this arvo, the wind filled in nicely.  Was sailing with 6.4 fully powered.

Unfortunately no record as it appears you need to not only turn the Canmore GPS on, but also drill into the menu to start it logging.  Ironically, I did this at the end of my sail and then got a nice track of my drive home as I forgot to turn it off!

Dang darn it! Frown  3rd time lucky I hope....

Nice Nauty Rat!

Nice going fellas!!...  and the markers wont be under at hightyde, they are a bit hard to spot as the sun gos to the west.

But the rocks are mainly a problem at lower tydes,..  and even at a distanse of about 5m from the markers you would be

OK,.. and have enogh time to stear clear of them.... if the pipes are still there.  Wink

They're probably still there, 260m is a bit far for these old eyes with non perscription foggy sunglasses on.

Congratulations on the gybes Basil. I am still at that point where I am thankful every time I get around without falling off too!

Nice naughty Ratz! It has been hard to score a 30 nm in WA this month. Well done!

Nice NM Ratz :-) and nice little session Cap'n and Mr Fawlty. I am up in Lancelin. Had a session on Friday, light and choppy, nothing to write him about. Will download and post when I get home.
