10-18kts ENE Coal Point, NSW, AU - 115 Xcross - 7m OD + 38cm Makani weedie

What a lovely sail! Bit underpowered could have rigged the 7.5m but was stronger as rigging. Mainly 10-15kts with occasional puff more.Felt like a cruisey sail so ok with 7m. I bought the 7m for these conditions and it rotated well today ( pilot error last time Embarassed )  so it is  ideal..

Got to practise tips from LG and practise getting upwind underpowered ( dropped off the plane a bit). I  had a decent fin - yay! Even got the freemove riding off the fin in small chop of the sand islands - felt brilliant! Tongue outTongue out The chop was only small for Coal and some decent gusts over at the islands + flat water.

The aplha gybe was a nice planing one but lost all wind on the exit leg and off the plane for a while- bummer as would have been good.

I headed towards Tortonto a few times but too underpowered Sand islands were better.

Geoff + Alwyn out and both had lovely sails.

Lovely to be able to sail wherever you wanted and have a decent fin!

Went to Coal rather than Budgy as felt like a cruise + could visit mother in nursing home afterwards.Time for an indian takeaway now.. My idea of a perefct evening!Cool

Coal Point, NSW, AU

Maui Pursuit 8.0, iSonic 125, Brake 44

Nice sail except for the Brake slowing me down. A good fin might have resulted in more speed. Will have to find the money.

Best sail of my holidays so far. Not as hairy as last Friday.

Surprised I got a PB but about time.

Cripes Andrew- take your 7.6m + big boards! Didn't think it would blow down there. I only lost .01 speed when uploaded!Surprised

Thanks Sue. It was one of my runs down the speed strip. I'm sure it would have been quicker with a real fin.Laughing

Geoff, I think you will do better without the 'brake" on, try a Drake maybe.

It is a Drake Bruce, but it felt like a brake.Laughing The 2 sec felt faster than 26, at least the fin was whistling at a very high pitch like it was.
