iS107, 7.8RBlade, 38 CL Sl2 - Lammermoor Beach, QLD, AU 15-25kn

Wind had been up and down for most the day with rain squalls popping through.  Wind was around 14 - 18kn when rigging and picked up to 15-20 by the time I hit the water.  First 20minutes I was nicely powered up although it really cranked with a storm front and things got a bit hairy with board getting very flighty.  Launched off this wave and kicked the board too far off the wind mid air just as a big gust hit slamming me hard on my side.  No damage but slightly stunned and didn't really go for it after as I was too overpowered.  Lots of sealife on the water as well and had a big threadfin salmon do an almighty launch across my bow.

Port Douglas, QLD, AU Had all my jobs done by big lunch,So went for a look down the beach wind was a fresh 20kt southerly on the beach which surprised me a bit..Andrew was rigging 6m. Simmie was rigging 5.4m sail to go on her little JP wave board..I rigged burnt out 6.6m North to go on 97lt Isonic with 38 cm fin..By the time i hit the beach wind was back to 15 or16 kts, and thats pretty much where it stayed all arvo..Andrew did one lap and went back to car park in search of more Hp. Came back out on powered up 7.2m rig and went blasting..I should of done the same but it required to much effort..I' face planted 'a locked gate on my dirt bike last weekend and i am still feeling a bit shabby ..So i decided to stay in cruise mode and just clock up a few km.Got a bit bored after an hr of cruising on fully powered up North rig so i decided on a quick fin change to a Sting 40cm just to liven things up a bit,had an enjoyable but easy session on the water dropped a gybe at sundown so lost interest and went home..Andrew had a good blast and was fighting a strong in coming tide which made doing down winders all to hard in a soft breeze..It is almost time to strap a GPS to the big mans arm and see what he can really do...Simmie fluttered around like a 'dainty little fairy',as she always does making it all look to easy..All in the name of fun..Cheers Ed..

Hey Fred thats a great speed in the Holloways chop am impressed,Do you know what happened to James and Ian they were ment to sail at Newl Beach??  Snags good to see you got over your crash and are back out carving it up.Good sailors don't crash that much but when they do it is usually a good 'wipe out 'your lucky you didnt trash your rig..  Hey Kel let me know when the next green island run is on,was going to go on the weekend but as you said ran out of water at lunch time..Cheers Ed

Glad to see lots of FNQ mobsters got out over the weekend, Ian and I went upto Newell beach. From 1-2.30 wind was great 18 kn, but then it died a bit and we changed upto larger boards but then it dropped some more to only about 13 kn so we packed up early (4 pm) and went back up the hill. Bit dissapointing after a great start - sounds like it was winder at Pt D. Ian forgot his gps and I`m having trouble downloading mine!!  Very big effort on distance Ed.
